Induction cooking for schools

Induction hob technology has been around for a few years now, but it has not always been an easily accessible piece of equipment, especially for schools. But, that’s where we come in!

We are now able to offer a vast selection of induction appliances on affordable rental contracts for any school in the UK. So let’s start with the basics…

How does induction technology work?

Induction technology uses electromagnetic energy to heat the base of the pan and its contents, rather than the hob’s surface. When a pan is placed on an induction hob, a magnetic circuit is completed. Therefore, even when the hob is switched on, without a completed circuit, no energy is produced and the hobs surface doesn’t get hot.

More importantly, how could induction technology benefit your school?

  • Induction hobs are far more efficient than gas or electric hobs, helping to reduce a schools carbon footprint and save money on energy bills at the same time.
  • Induction technology is faster than any other fuel type. With the ability to boil water in a matter of seconds, there’s less energy required and time isn’t wasted during lessons.
  • There are no flames or hot ceramic elements; the hobs surface stays cool, making induction a much safer option for students.
  • The ceramic surface is easy to clean; dirt can simply be wiped away immediately, as there is no need to wait for it to cool down.

With both built-in and freestanding induction models available, there is an option to suit every school kitchen. Please give us a call today, on 01628 667373, where a member of the team is waiting to help your school find their perfect induction appliance.
